3100cn. Removing the 250-sheet tray module
I've just removed the 250-sheet tray module, but the printer won't start without it.
After initial diagnosing the printe gives the errorcode '004-312' and the error message 'The tray must be 250-sheet... Call support'
What should I do?

Put it back.......
The minimum required configuration for the 3100cn includes the 250-sheet tray module. In other words, it is required to be installed on this model.

Nope, sorry..... on the 3100cn, it's required.
However, on the sister machines (3000cn & 3010cn), the tray is optional.

:emotion-1: Thanks llynster
Unfortunately the printer won't fit in on its shelf with the tray module mounted.
Is there really no other way?

ILynster,
I have teh 250 sheet tray in place, but haven't used the printer for over a year due to drum issues. I want to replace the drum and start using it again, but i get the same error when i plugged my printer in. What can I do about this?
