3110 3115 Glossy Paper issues
Trying to print some brochures. I have HP Brochure paper. 44lb glossy.
Most pages print fine. But the pages that are 100% color have an issue mostly down the right side of the page where the toner won't stick to the paper. It gets blotchy, and almost "crispy". I find the missing toner on the back side of the following pages.
I haven't tried the MATTE version of this paper.
I have also tried HP Photo Paper 52lb Matte. Same problem.
I have tried both a 3110cn and a 3115cn. Both have the exact same issue in the same spots.
Any suggestions for paper, or am I asking to much of this printer?
This is NOT the normal use for this device, but I do have a Sharp Color copier to replace that will need to do this type of printing occasionally. I was thinking I might be able to get by with another 3115 for that. (low production).
Thanks
Dennis

I am experiencing the identical problem with my 3110. I am using HP Color Laser Presentation Paper, glossy, 34 pound. Smudging is always seen on the left side and corresponding reverse side on the left if one is facing the control panel. I am anxious to learn if this a paper selection problem or a cleaning maintenance issue.

Ave Maria!
I had the same problem with our 3130CN and thought it was because I was using "inkjet" glossy paper. Color photos came out looking normal except with blank sections and smears, as if the toner was not sticking. A few sheets would need to be run through to clear out the residual toner. Tried all sorts of settings and paper types. Ordered some "laser" glossy paper and a few came out ok, but then the same problem happened.
SOLUTION: Change the paper type setting not only in your software's print dialog, but also at the printer itself on the console. Inkjet or laser glossy paper now work fine.
MENU > TRAY SETTINGS > TRAY 1 > PAPER TYPE > COATED
Change back to PLAIN when finished.
