3130cn network problems.
I am using the Dell 3130cn as a wired network printer. I have three computers that utilize this printer. Every couple of days, the printer stops connecting properly to the network and I have to delete it and install it as a new printer.
What seems to be happening is that the IP address changes and as a consequence, the computers on the network can not find the printer. For example, recently the printer was set at the following address: 192.168.1.12. Today, when I tried to print, it had moved to 192.168.1.13. However, the computer still is trying to print to 192.168.1.12...without success of course.
The last time this happened, I went into my network settings and assigned the printer a specific address reservation of 192.168.1.12. But obviously this did not work.
Any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix the problem.
Thanks
(By the way is there someway I can subscribe to this thread so that I see when/if there is a response. I have looked over the options and can't seem to find a way to do this.)

Thanks for the suggestion and yes I can also get the printer recognized that way....but that does not solve anything over the long run. The problem I have is that the the printer keeps changing ip addresses making all 3 computers unable to see the printer until I go back and change the ip address to the new ip that has suddenly been selected. What I need is a solution that stops the printer from changing ip addresses in the first place. I've never had this problem with any other network printer.
By the way, on my other question, I see that someone (perhaps you) has subscribed to this thread. I can't see anywhere to do that can you tell me where that is?
Thanks

You can set the ip address of the printer to Static. Just go to the web interface of it by typing the IP address of the printer to your browser. Look for Printer Server Settings > TCP and you should find an option to set it to static.
