5100cn Printing light issue

I have a 5100cn printer that prints black fine but all three colors are very light. The drum kit and transfer roll are new. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm just getting ready to box my 5110cn back up cause the colors appear very OK but the B&W resolution is AWFUL and the blacks are very light and washed out.

Reset your NVRAM and replace your black toner, that should help.

I JUST bought the printer. Replacing the toner would be expensive just to try and SEE if it would print blacker. The whole reason I bought this printer in the first place was the huge volume toner cartridges. If I had to replace them after 100 pages it wouldn't be very cost effective. :)

Are you a tech? Do you have one of these printers and did this help yours?

What would resetting the NVRAM do? How do I do that? I'd be willing to try that first.

Thanks!

Yes I am I Certified Dell Tech and there may be a chance that your Black toner is defective out of the box. This isn't something that happens offend, but would rule out the toner first. If it isn't the toner, you could shelve it for later use. Your yield should be 10K or 18K per cartridge. Resetting the NVRAM will reset the printer back to its defaults. Go under configure, maintenance menu, init nvram init nvram is reset
