924 Scan function with wireless print adapter

Question

I have a DELL Photo 924 all-in-one Printer, and I am thinking of getting a wireless printer adapter. Currently undeceided about which one, but probably a Netgear because my main wireless router is Netgear. Is anyone currently running their 924 through a wireless printer adapter and if so, can you still use the scanner with the printer only connected to the print adapater, or do you need the printer to be connected to a PC via the USB connection for the scanner to work. If the scan function will still work do I need to ensure that the print adapter has a memory? Or are there any other special requirements ie only works with dell print adapter?

hi! if that's what you're planning then here I have some ideas for you to consider.. if you wanna use your 924 printer and connect it using printer wireless adapter and that if you wanna scan using Dell AIO Solution Center then based on experience you can't do that. you can actually scan using the printer standalone. no problem with the scanning mode.. hope this info helps.. :smileywink:

Sorry if I seem a little slow here.

Am I right in saying that I can have the printer connected only to the wireless printer adapter, and still scan a document into the scanner and get the images onto a computer on my network? This printer would have no physical connection to the printer (USB lead), only the network connection?

I can understand that... I MEANT to say the printer would have no direct connection to the PC, only via the wireless LAN :)
