926 all-in-one does not print. please help?!
For some reason my 926 printer will not print. Each time I print it says it cannot connect to the printer.
Things ive tried:
- change usb lead
- different USB port
- disable firewall (norton)
- reinstall driver
- completely remove driver and all related registry entries then re-install
Everything Ive tried has resulted in the same result - no improvement.
Can anyone suggest a solution?

Oldfart,
Can you make a copy of a document when you put it under the glass? B&W and color?

Jim,
That narrows things down to either a paper jam, a bad sensor in the Dell Series 9 ink cartridge(s). Try what I have listed below and see what happens. The printer needs to be able to print by making a copy, first.
Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has.
Power on the printer. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 9 Black cartridge. make sure all the tape is off the cartridge and put the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 9 color cartridge.
You are using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges, correct?
Dell Series 9 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.
Dell Series 9 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.
Black cartridge = black side(left side) Color cartridge = color side(right side)
Photo cartridge = black side(left side) Color cartridge = color side(right side)
It is possible to get a Dell Series 9 cartridge with a bad sensor. Contact the place of purchase for a replacement.

Jim,
If you cannot sopy the document, then the printer has a problem. Usually it's people using refilled ink cartridges, generic cartridges or a sensor went bad in the ink cartridge. Most issues are with the ink cartridges.
reinstalling the drivers is the easy part.
