946 AIO Printer - Cannot Install the Scan Software

I have a Dell AIO 946 printer connected by USB to a PC running Windows 2000 SP4.

I've installed the Driver/software downloaded from the Dell Website.

The install went fine with no errors and I can print to the Printer and can Scan and Fax

from the Printers own control panel. However no Scan Software has been installed on the PC

Only the following options are available in Programs  --> Dell Printers --> Dell AIO Printer 946 -

Dell Order Ink Cartridges

Uninstall Dell AIO Printer 946

View Dell Users Guide

I don't see the Dell All-In-One Center option.

I performed a uninstall/install a few times now but still no Scan option

I also saw a fix  posted to a user who had a similar problem and followed those instructions but still no joy.

Since I can't find the CD that came with the printer, I'm just wondering if the

file "R145315.exe" downloaded from the Dell Website contains any Scan Application Software

Any help is appreciated.

The latest drivers and the Dell-all-in-one center will be in R145315.exe.

I usually tell everyone to disconnect their printer. Un-install their printer.

Restart their computer. Now when you click on the R145315.exe, it will install the latest drivers. It will prompt you when to connect your printer. If the printer is connected first, it takes the drivers that Windows finds for it.

You Utilities will also be in the R145315.exe file.

Problem Solved - Thanks 'PudgyOne' for those instructions

Previously I had been installing remotely and getting a person on-site to connect/disconnect the USB Printer cable. Obviously it wasn't been done precisely as per 'PudgyOne' instructions.

I went on-site and ran the install and everything went smoothly - also this time other install screens appeared (Dell All-In-One Center) during the installation process.

So Thanks again for the info PudgyOne
