964 communication problem - device not recognized - Help!

I'm reposting my message from 1 week ago to see if any one can help me....

I am continually having communication problems with my Dell 964. I have had to uninstall and reinstall the printer so my Inspiron laptop can recognize it. Once I shut my system down for the night and came back the next day to print something, the same problem starts all over again.

Is there a permanent solution to this?
