A920 Copy then print with wrong margins

Objective is to make a copy of a simple text document.

Press black copy button on printer.  It copies ok.  But when it prints, the margins are wrong.  For example, a text document with one-inch margins is copied and then printed with 0.25 inch margins.  It is usually the left margin that screws up, but sometimes the top margin also has a problem.

Where do I look to fix this problem?

Thanks.

headhog70,

On the printer, there is a setting for paper size. Make sure the correct paper size and the copy settings are correct.

Thanks for your reply PudgyOne,

I do not have the printer with me.  It is actually a friends computer.  I tried to fix his old computer without success.  He purchased a new Dell and I loaded the printer driver, amongst other software to get him back in business.  We went from XP to 7 which caused a little problem, but your post to this issue from another Dell customer helped me load the correct printer driver.

When you say "On the printer", I am assuming you mean in the All-In-One Center software settings.  If so, I'll give it another try this weekend.

Thanks Again.

headhog70,

I just looked at the Dell A920 Printer manual and on pages 15-17 and on pages 26 and 27 of the PDF (Manual pages are (5-7) and (16 & 17)

It explains about the settings. I have settings on my printer that I can change the default scan, copy and print settings as well as tyhe default paper size. I see this printer fully utilitzes the Dell All-In-One Center.

We must have some setting, or combination of settings wrong.  I will go through them methodically next time I visit my friend.

Thanks Again,

Bob
