Hello,

SAme problem here, but i got a little more details... It comes from an exec loading bad at startup that usually catch user click on the printer buttons.

Here is the msg i posted on another forum (no accurate reply till now, i'll tell if i get one)

I just received my new Dimension 5000. Everything works fine, except a problem with some part of the printer (All-In-one Printer 922) software. The printer, scanner and Dell Printer Solution Center load and work fine, but a component of the software ( Dell Button Manager, which manages interaction between printer button press and computer, eg. scan button launches scan program) gives a regular "Program ended etc..." error in windows.

The error message reports the following :

AppName: dlbtmon.exe, AppVer: 1.0.4.0, ModName : hid.dll, ModVer : 5.1.2600.2180, Offset: 00001abc

I updated the drivers and management program to lastest from Dell.com website, tryed multiple install/uninstall/reboot, nothin works...

I found nothing on knowledge databases about this problem, so if anyone got the same thing and an idea??

Thx...

(I'm running Dimension 5000, 3.0gHz HT, 1Go DDR 400, 160Go, Rad 300XE, WinXP Home SP2 full update)

I had the same problem too! I called phone support and believe it or not they had me unplug my usb mouse and the error message went away! If you still have that error message try unplugging your USB mouse and use a PS2 instead.

OMG...........

Yeah Yeah, i'll use PS2 for my MX1000 that's for sure... anyone from dell around here??? if it's a conflict with the mouse, i guess it's not that hard to fix and publish an up-to-date fixed driver...........

No other way than removing the mouse (it isn't worth it, as it only affects the scan button, which is minor problem nxt to havin to use PS2 mouse, but i hate getting an error on every startup...)

Cmon Dell cmon fix it...

You could, of course, just try a different USB mouse. The problem is more then likely in the HID driver native in windows....

I fixed the problem. I went to dell.com to get the updated driver and installed that over the existing file. I clicked on start, then went to Dell Printer, click on the Dell All-in-one center. Place any thing on the flatbed and click scan. It should work.

I got the scan button to work on my account, however, on my wife's account the printer icon has a RED X on it. I've reinstalled, uninstalled and still the same problem. Remarkably, I can still use the scan function on my side. When I went to the device manager, and clicked on Image device, then on properties the staus was READY, but on her side it wasn't. VERY ODD!
