There is a couple of things you can try to fix this error
1. As well as cleaning the cartrodges that you have already done remove them from the printer and where the ink sits in the printer clean the gold contacts in the printer.
2. Take a look inside the printer and right behind the black ink carriage you will see a thin piece of plastic material clean it off with a paper towel pinch it between your finger a run along it. You may also move the ink carriage manually to clean the other side that is blocked by the ink carriage.
3. Run a paper towel one to two times over the top of the medal bar in the printer.
3. After you have done this un plug the power from the printer (Should alrewady be unplugged well cleaning the plastic strip (Encoder Strip) and plug the power back in on the printer.
Tip: You have have to repeat the steps 2 or 3 times depending on how dirty the inside of your printer is.
I performed the steps you suggested and my printer works fine now. The only difference is that I used disposable lens cleaning wipes that contained isopropyl alcohol. Thanks for the tips.
