A940 Printer (stalling and errors for no reason)

I have a problem with my computer stalling and errors popping up on it for no reason.I have to shut the printer off and turn it back on to get it to work again.Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I looked on troubleshooting and it didn't have any error numbers matching mine. Any suggestions to solve this problem?

Giving the error one have helped answer the problem more quickly however im going to guess it might be something like 0502 hardware error?? If this is the error you are getting you will need to pen the printer and remove the cartidges then wipe the cartriges gold tape portion off with a paper towel in a downward motion, Also you will have to clean inside the printer wherte the ink sits the gold copper tape portion as well. Also there is a (Encoder strip) thin piece of plastic inside the printer sits just behind the black carrige in the printer running the full length of the printer that also needs to be cleaned off running a paper towel along it right to left best thing to do is pinch the strip with the thum and forefinger using the paper towel.

Hope this helps

Thank you Searchy!!!I tried your suggestion about cleaning the carts and the tape on my 940. It worked and I'm back in business....printing away.  Error 0502 is gone!
