AIO 942 x64 drivers?

I've not done much dealing with Dell, can I expect drivers for this printer for Windows x64 in the future? I'm sorta mad that they're not avaiable right now, this is the ONLY component in my PC that doesn't have x64 driver support.

Hopefully someone can help me out, or tell me where I can get some or find out who to contact to complain to about not having the drivers? :)

Dell has stated that they don't have and don't intend to have x64 drivers for their current models of ink jet printers. It is doubtful that any other software co. will write drivers for Dell printers. A few(very few) people have claimed to be modifying other X64 drivers to work with their model Dells and were asked to let us(the community forum)know if they worked. So far no one has let us know.

wow, last time I ever buy ANY Dell product.. that makes me mad, now I know that they stop supporting products quickly there's no reason to continue doing business with them..

at the moment it seems only the 9x4 series of inkjets have x64 drivers which have been out since october.

I guess Dell loses another customer!! My printer is only 3 months old!!:smileymad: Now I have to go buy a new printer.......it wouldn't be so bad if they had done a better job of keeping there customers informed. Even better, if they would've wrote a driver for the printers of this calander year.

My 962 is just few months old and its obsolete for lack of x64 drivers. Now I got to buy Dell's 964 to get the x64 support. What a piece of krrapp? I will never buy dell again.

If the new 964 would fill the bill for what you want in a printer and at a good price, you could probably sell your 962 to someone that is still using XP or 2000.

the thing is that you may have just bought your 962, but at the time it had already been out for quite some time and was at the end of its product cycle, the 964 may have already been out when you made your purchase, i think it came out in october/november time. it is always possible though that they may decide to release some when Vista comes out with enough user feedback.

If 964 was there, I would have bought that instead. Product cycle is never limited to 6 months. And many vendors (unlike Dell), go out of their way to provide support for operating systems which were not "hot" when they released the product. windows x64 was out way before the end of cycle for 962 and release of 964. Its wrong policy to drive their latest product, otheriwse porting the drivers to x64 is not that much work (they did it for 964, they didn't rewrite those drivers). I mean its just one version old and people here are claiming that its the-end for those users.

this being the only part of my PC without x64 drivers shows how BAD Dell's support is in comparison to other manufactuars.. down to my F'n monitor, X64 support.

nVidia? ATi? Logitech? Creative? Linksys?

i swear, I wont spend another dime with Dell. I use these ink cartridges, the printer goes in the garbage, I cancle my preferred account and I buy a Lexmark. I'll never recommend a Dell product again.

I'm sorry but I'm a bit angry about this. If they drop support for their printers this quickly do they do the same with their computers? Will your Dell PC be completely worthless in the future when all it needs is a simple 200kb driver update?

I have a feeling that Dell thinks that if they sell things cheap, people will just buy them and not care how dell treats those people in the future...I am so p***ed that I fell for it and bought this printer. But never again. This thing is going to garbage once cartridges are done and I will buy something which provides me decent future support.
