hoppie18603,
Please try reading...
Troubleshooting Printhead Problems on the Dell AIO V313w, V515w, V715w, P513w, and P713W Printers
In Reseat the ink cartridge, make sure to pay close attention to step 5 which states...
Insert the ink cartridge. Using two hands, slide the front end of the cartridge into the printhead and then press down on the back of the cartridge until you feel the cartridge click into place.
Make sure the lip in in the correct place.
If the ink cartridge still malfunctions, then contact the place of purchase for a replacement.

Buy a new printer and cut your losses ASAP.. this machine EATS ink... It will be cheaper to get things printed at Staples than use their ink monster.
but look at this in the meantime. Im a Vista User...
C:\ProgramData\Dl_cats\.A00
this is the print log they wont tell you about... <ADMIN NOTE:Service tag removed per privacy policy> in MY service tage from the back of my printer, yours will be different... just look on the back of your printer to find it.... take a good look at the file...
kind regards,
michael

Your v313 print log can be located despite what the technician said on the phone.
windows vista
C:\ProgramData\Dl_cats\< SERVICE TAG FROM YOUR PRINTER>(dot)A00
-------------- or something very similar, I can not tell you the exact file name that I found because it is it is violating forum policy by revealing my service tag from my printer.... but you will figure it out, and quickly discover how much ink you really use....
I calculated it out, it's cheaper to have Staples print my stuff that use this printer. I spent $190 to print less than 700 pages 90% at normal quality setting... ordinary things like essays for school, recipes, and driving directions....no photos at all! I think about the money spent on ink printing directions, I could own a Navigation unit by now...
cut your losses...
I hope I havent violated any more policies, by informing you that my printer uses more ink than i can afford to put in it, unlike any printer I have ever owned, or even known about.
Oh, and read the privacy agreement before you allow remote diagnosis, as I found it to be very intrusive.
kind regards
