Cannot Connect Dell 1765nfw wirelessly to iMac
I had this same issue when I first purchased this dell printer and I was attempting to connect it to my PC. I had to have Dell email me the driver files and I downloaded and set up everything through a USB connection before I could setup the wireless part.
Now I have my first iMac and I'm having issues again. I have downloaded the driver package from Dell and installed it on my iMac. However, nothing shows up in the Printers & Scanners window. So I click the Plus sign and there is nothing available to install. I am now linked via a USB cable and there is still nothing displaying as available to install.
I've attempted to install the drivers at least three times and the entire install process goes as expected with expected success at the end. These are the only these Dell folders and files available under Applications:
Folder: Dell C1765 Color Multifunction Printer
Files: Address Book Editor.app & ScanButton Manager.app
I do see Dell files saved where I believe they should be:
Library > Printers > Dell > PDEs >
C1765printhelper.app
DellC1765nf.plugin
DellC1765nfFax.plugin
DellC1765nfw.plugin
DellC1765nfwFax.plugin
And
Library > Printers > Dell > PPDs > Content > Resources
Dell C1765nf Color MFP Fax.ppd.gz
Dell C1765nf Color MFP.ppd.gz
Dell C1765nfw Color MFP Fax.ppd.gz
Dell C1765nfw Color MFP.ppd.gz
However, I don’t know how to grab any of these to get these to install or if they are the files that I need. I should at least be able to add a printer since I’m connected via USB.
Anyone know why this forum is adding additional line spacing to this post?
