Most of the time, the phone line is not plug in to the correct port. there's should be two phone connection at the back. one has a telephone logo and the other has a square logo. The telephone logo is for extension so you will need to plug in your line to the one that has square logo. Also, you can plug in a telephone to the printer extension and check if you'll be getting a dialtone on the extension.
Sometimes, a thunderstorm/power outeage can damage that port so perhaps that's the reason why it's not detecting any dial tone.
Hello! I posted this same problem a few weeks back... I checked all of my cables/connections & there have been no changes that would affect the 962. I was wondering how a power surge would affect the printer/fax, but not damage my computer that is also connected? Is there a way to test the AIO port that you referred to possibly being damaged? Can this be repaired or am I out a lot of money only 1 year later? Thanks for your help!
