Can't scan from document feeder on H825cdw
I can scan from the scanner bed on my new H825cdw but not from the document feeder. If I place a few pages in the feeder, and click 'Scan' the machine just runs a scan on the empty scanner bed. Once in awhile, a notice will appear that says that a document has been detected but even then the machine does not use the documents in the feeder, it just scans the scanner bed again.
On the other hand I can run copies from the feeder just fine. I have tried cycling the machine by unplugging it from the wall for a while and I also reset the scanner defaults but to no avail.
Thanks.

I discovered the issue. When using the Windows default drivers, the MFD scanner profile sends to "Windows Fax and Scan." The default profile in "Windows Fax and Scan" is "Photo" (goto "Tools - Scan Settings"). "Photo" is set to scan from the flatbed instead of the ADF. You can specify the other profile, "Documents," to be the default and have it scan from the ADF (you can select either simplex or duplex).
Unfortunately, I was unable to find a setting that will let you choose the profile to scan to on the MFD itself (if you use Dell Document Hub on the MFD, you will have all the options and more - to include creating OCR'ed PDFs).
Hope this helps.
