Can't set up scanning to email MFP H825cdw

I bought the H825cdw a couple of years back, new from Dell, because I do a lot of work from home. When I work from home, I use a Citrix portal to access my work account. Because of the Citrix settings, I cannot scan from my printer through Citrix, I can only scan to my personal computer.

I'd like to scan to email, so I can just email these documents directly to my work email address. However, after trying for hours to follow the directions in the owner's manual, and some very similar directions I found in this community, I'm still getting an error message when I scan. The screen on the printer says "Could Not Resolve SMTP Server Name. Check that SMTP Server and DNS Server are set correctly. Job cancelled.

I use GMail for my personal mail. Here are my settings as entered in my browser access to my printer:

Menu: Print Server Settings/Print Server Settings/TCP/IP

  • Enable is checked for Get DNS Server Address from DHCP in DNS

Menu Print Server Settings/Email Server

  • Primary SMTP Gateway - smtp.gmail.com
  • SMTP Port Number = 465
  • E-Mail Send Authentication drop down = SMTP AUTH (Login)
  • SMTP Login User = my personal gmail email address
  • SMTP Login Password = the password for my printer as set my Google
  • Reply Address = my personal gmail email address
  • Click Apply New Settings (wait three or more minutes for printer to restart and browser detects printer again)

Menu: Print Server Settings/Security/SSL/TLS

  • Selected SSL/TLS
  • Click Apply New Settings

Added two or three names to email address book, with email addresses

Tried to scan to email. Document scans, but then I get the error message.

Since I'm working from home, I am not on any network servers, but the printer is connected to my computer via WiFi.

Any advice on how to get this to work for me?

Thanks in advance!!!
