Chaning "All-In-One Center" Default Settings
Aaaargh! I'm trying to set up a Dell 968 All-In-One, but the scanning setup is driving me crazy. All I want is to scan documents or photos, and have a simple dialogue about what format I want to save them in and where I want to save them. And I'd like some basic defaults in place, like having the system save images as "date.pdf" in a "scans" folder designated by me.
Instead, there's nowhere in the All In One Center application for me to set a default save directory.
And even if I instruct the printer to "save file" rather than "email," the only option I'm given on the computer is to attach the result to an email.
The only way I was able to save a .pdf of my scan was to go along for the ride, attach it to an email, open the email attachments directory, then copy the file to the "scans" folder where I want it.
Is there a REAL, grown-up Advanced Settings somewhere that has this? Or is there a way to bypass Dell's poor software and use something else (for instance, CanoScan, which works nicely with our other scanner)?
Thanks for any help.

Scoobey,
What is the make and model of your computer and operating system? 32-bit or 64-bit?
How is the 968 printer connected to your computer, usb cable or are you using the wireless card?
Does this printer use the Dell All-In-One Center? If so, did you try opening the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying. At the top in very small icons, you can change the folders.
I have found out that scanning, it does make a copy of the scan to the pictures/documents folders with the date and time of scan. I used this as a backup a couple of times.
Try reading Update list of applications to send scans to
