Connecting two computers to a non-network 1710

Is it possible to connect two computers in my home to the same printer without having to purchase the 1710N?

I am concerned that it will slow down the speed of the printer. Is it better to have two separate printers?

Thanks.

You can connect two computers to the same printer as long as you have the printer connected to one system and then set it up using file & printer sharing wizard vis windows.

Dell tech support does not support file and printer sharing so if you need any further help regarding this issue do a search using www.google.com and search for file and printer sharing and your windows operating system.

As per the speed concern should be fine as long as your not printing big grapgic files

Hope this helps

If you don't have your computers networked, a 2-position autoswitch or manual switch will do the trick as well. This will allow you to connect each computer to the printer . The autoswitch will direct the computer print commands from each computer to the printer. You do need M-M printer cables to go from each computer to the switch.
