connecting wireless printer to computer

I have a Dell B120 laptop and I'm trying to connect an HP Photosmart C4380 all in one printer, which is supposed to connect wirelessly. I purchased a Belkin Wireless G notebook card. Is this what I need? Do I have to have a router? I really don't know what I am doing. I connect to the internet on dial up, which I don't plan to change. I just want a wireless printer. Silly me, I thought this would be simple.

Pjgoode, you'll need to identify the MAC address of your printer's wireless adaptor (something that looks like 00-1B-3F-20-44-6E) and add that address to the configuration of your wireless router, usually under a Firewall menu.  This means that your printer will now be visible as a network device and (provided you have the suitable printer driver) you'll be able to connect to it just like you do a printer on an ethernet cable.
