Dell 1700n Printer - PDFs printing issue

I am unable to print PDFs on the brand new Dell 1700n printer connected to the computer via USB. Any thoughts?

What sort of PDF's ? Do you have them locally on your HD or just printing them from a web site ? I print just about any PDF on my 1700 with just the base RAM.

Look for an extra printer with "PS" at the end of the name in "Printers & Faxes". If it's there, try it for your *.pdf files. If it's not, download and install current printer software making sure to install the PostScript as well as PCL drivers.

Also, install all relevant Windows And Office updates.

I can print PDFs, but if I try to print 2-sided, it won't do it.  It prints it on a 2nd page instead.  I have the latest driver and the latest Adobe Reader, too.

The printer doesn't have a built in duplexor. So you have to manually print one side and then re-feed the paper into the printer for the toher side. Maybe that is why it is doing what it is doing ?

I agree, but the printer software will stop after the first page and tell you to refeed the paper.  It does this automatically in Word, but if it is a PDF file, it doesn't give you the message.  It just goes ahead and prints the 2nd page on another sheet of paper, even though I have it set to print 2-sided.
