Dell 1710n connection using both network and usb

Is it possible to configure the Dell 1710n printer to use both the network and the USB connections together?

We have a number of Dell 1710n printers that are configured to use network connections from our classroom servers and workstations.  We run virtual machine images in the classrooms, which are connected using a different subnet to the real (host) machines.  We would like to print from the virtual machine images as well as from the host machines.  We do not want the virtual machines to be able to route to the real machines' subnet (for security reasons).  We can enable the USB ports on the virtual machine images.  Is it possible to configure the virtual machines to access the printer via the USB port as a directly-attached printer and configure the real machine to use the printer as a network attached printer?

Many thanks

Joe.

Yes. I have mine hooked up that way using both connections. Personally for me; USB

On our network, so folks in the immediate "cube neighborhood" can us it.
