dell 3000cn '016-310' Error Message

Question

I have a dell 3000cn that is only occasionally used. Total print page is under 100. Now I got ' 016-310' error message prompting me to restart the printer which I did numerous times but that did nothing to solve the issue. I did a search on Google and found the forum here. A previous poster experienced the same issue and was advised by Dell technician to make sure the cables are connected securely inside the side panel. http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=S2500&message.id=8055   I did that too and didn't help. I don't know whether he/she had the problem solved or not as the person still had the same problem and there was no further follow up message in that thread.   I really need some advice on how to salvage this printer, especially I haven't used it that much and would hate to junk a basically new printer.   Thanks in advance.

016-310 is Checksum error at Font ROM. If your product warranty is not over, I suggest you to send the printer for board replacement..   Othewise, you may try to upgrade the Firmware...sometimes..this does help.
