Dell 3000cn, only 90g/m2?

I'm a little bit astonished that the 3000cn is only capable to work with 90g/m2 paper. Is that really true? Is it impossible to feed it with, say 110g/m2?

Isn't a limit of 90g/m2 a reason not to buy this product?

The 3000/3100 series lacks an alternate straight-thru paper path. Absent such an option, yes it's ability to handle card stock is going to be severely limited.

As to whether that's a reason to ignore it, only you can judge ... I suspect just as many or more of us are equally or even more unhappy with their inability to handle most envelopes without skew, wrinkle or mangling...

Ok now I'm really confused. I was going through the technical data of the 3000cn and I thought, there is a multifunction feeder integrated. Even on photographs I can see it and in the technical data they write: Supported media types: .... weight 60-215g/m2. Paper weight: Standard- and optional paper feeder: 60-90 g/m2, manual feeding with multifunctional papercase: 60 - 216 g/m2. Standard papercase: 150-paper multifunctional case with shield. (Sorry for maybe bad translation, I'm Swiss)

It's in German though but if you want to check it...

Now what is the truth now? Why did you tell me, that it is impossible to use paper above 90 g/m2?

I have recently purchased a 300cn.

I am currently using 'pre-headed' paper of 120g/m2 with no problems. I have also used 150 on a couple of occasions - again with no problems.

Hope this helps:smileyhappy:
