Dell 3115cn adding extra color on the pages

Question

Hi

ive encoutered a problem with this dell 3115cn printer which i have no idea how to solve.

Its adding extra color on the pages, when its in color its red, when its black and white, its black.

Ive added the pictures on my picasa webalbum, on the color page its around the yellow spot, and a bit further down.

its 3 places on the page.

if anyone has any good tip(eg which part to replace), i'll appreciate it, the printer works - not just that pretty.

Hi mkalle,

Paper quality can drastically affect the quality of the print. If paper surface is smooth, such as with ink-jet glossy photo paper, the laser printer toner does not fuse correctly to the paper. On the other hand, if the paper surface is too rough, the toner does not fuse properly to the surface, causing deletions or deletion spots. Please make sure proper specification paper is installed in the printer as it is the most common reason for any print quality issue. In case the print has been fine on the same paper type, please follow the steps below:

1 Please update the firmware of the printer using the following link: http://dell.to/T4a9ET
2 In case the issue is still not fixed, update the driver of the printer using the same link: http://dell.to/T4a9ET

Hello

Thanks for you answer, i tried to look for a firmware file on the page you pasted, but without luck. - can you please give me a direct link for a new firmware?

I did install Open Printer Manager, and it says my Fuser health is at 30%, maybe i need to change the Fuser?

I dont think it has something to do with the paper quality.

Okay, the printer has been updated (it did over 2 runs), it said 'completede' in the end. It still prints the extra color lines 3 places on the page.
