Dell 3115cn not printing double sided

Hi there,

I have a dell 3115cn, couple years old, and I've been trying to set it up, but getting quite a few problems with it. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/uk/en/ukbsdt1/Product/dell-3115cn

I don't own the disk anymore, so I put my faith in Windows 7 to have it in the drivers, which is does not, even after a windows update. So I downloaded the drivers from the link above, and then select the drivers (have disk), and install.

The first issue comes with the image of the printer. I assume this is down to windows 7 not knowing what printer it is, so there's no correct image.

So I let that slide, and now I want to print. But for some reason 2 sided printing is not allowed...

Any ideas? Funny enough the image is correct on the Printing Preferences screen?

Thanks for looking :)

Tom

Hi ChapBen,

Please try the below mentioned steps from the control panel of the printer:

  1. Select the Menu button.
  2. Scroll up or down and select copy.
  3. Select 2Sided.
  4. Select Long edge Binding or Short edge binding to enable duplex printing.

The above settings enable the two sided printing, Long-Edge binding will produce pages that would be flipped left to right (like a book). Short-Edge binding will produce pages that would be turned vertically (like a sketch pad).

Please post the results.
