I am having the same problem with my dell all in one printer with regards to the encoder strip. I cannot seem to get it to snap into place the way it is described in the picture from Dell support. HELP
Did you ever figure out how to reinstall that plastic strip? Same thing happened to me and the knowledge base article has pictures that do not look like the inside of my machine!
No I have never gotten the strip back into place. I agree the picture does not look like the inside of mine either. I had to purchase a Lexmark printer ($50.00) to hold me over until I either have the time to attempt to fix it or have it looked at. I was told it would cost more to have it repaired then to just buy a new one.
