 paulies46,

You'll need to disconnect the printer. Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista drivers that match your operating system. Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit and Vista 64-bit for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the drivers in the Compatibility mode. You get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Rick,

I seem to have another problem.  When I try to download the driver, dell tells me I need the download the "Delldriverdownloadmanager".  I do so, and then it tells me I have items to download.  When I try to add the driver, it tells me I need to download the manager again.  I don't know what I am doing wrong.

OK I'm having this problem but I don't see any bypass thing??  I keep trying to download all the drivers and nothing works, it just keeps redownloading the dell download manager and then when I try to download something else it says no files selected?  I don't know what else to try?

Thanks I got it to work finally.  I think it was also because I was trying to go through firefox.  I used explorer instead with clicking the other option.
