Dell AIO 920 photo printing problems

The photo is not clear, smaller than appearing on the screen, and colors are all off.  It had worked in the past.  Working with XP, shouldn't it just be able to work with those programs or is a specific printing photo program necessary?  Seems to defeat the purpose if an all in one printer doesn't actually do just that. Thank you for any help you can provide.

When I scan a photo or doc, I get good results sending it as an attachment to my e-mail but have problems sending it as Text. The doc looks like the top portion is missing items on the right side. I keep feeling that it is a limitation on the indent but why would the attachment work perfectly?
