Dell-aio 942- allignment problems

Really annoying problem. Had the printer for just 2 months. Realized I had a problem when tried to print photos and they came out as if I printed them with sepia filter, dull, greenish or pinkish. Went through the maintenance drill, clean the nozzle, etc. When I got to allignment, it could not allign it. The alignment page was printing out WITH OUT the blue "pattern bricks" in the middle, only black patterns was coming out. Spent hours with dell tech support, finally said they will replace the printer, which they did, but once i plugged it in the SAME PROBLEM continued. So I guess it could be a problem with the cartridge, but it makes no sense: I am showing that I still have 70-80% of ink in the cartridge and when I use 'Clean to fix horizontal streaks" I printed a nice colorful black, magenta, and yellow horizontal pattern. So I am wondering if this could be a cartridge or something else, possibly software related. The only suggestion I get from Dell is to check again and again if I have any tape attached to the cartridges, which I do not! or to replace the cartridges, which I am not crazy about since its $50, and I am showing lots of ink. Any suggestions or have any one else experienced this problem.

I've got the same problem with my AIO 922 printer. But my printer can write the blue "pattern bricks" in the middle.

But it is always giving me an error of alignment page.

I think it's a reader-laser problem or a driver problem.

Sorry for my english

You say when you menu clean nozzles it prints black, magenta, and yellow. There should also be horizontal cyan(blue) strips. If not then some of your color ink cartridge nozzles may be clogged. The cleaning menu will not clear bad cloggs. Try soaking bottom of color ink cart. in 1/2 inch of hot water for 15 to 30 minutes. Blot dry with clean paper towel. re-install and try cleaning menu to see if it has started printing any cyan.

If you are getting sharp printing don't worry about the bad alignment message. Many printers give that message when they are perfectly aligned.

Thanks, I guess I will try this. Its definitely not printing cyan. Dell also agreed to replace my cartridges, which is a nice gesture, but in a meantime I will try to follow your advice and will let you know if it helped. Thanks, again.
