The 942 uses your PC's internal modem for faxing. Be sure that the phone line is plugged into it before you begin. You'll need to configure the MS Fax console from inside Windows for this to work. If it's not already installed, you'll need to install it. Check to see if it's there, go to Start/AllPrograms/Accessories/Communications/fax/fax console. If it's not there, you can install and configure it by following the instructions in this link:
Thanks for the help, Printboy! I was having the same problem. Because of you I can now use the all-in-one-942 instead of the two-out-of-three ain't bad machine.
