Dell AIO 966 Printer won't share.
Okay. I've given up trying to intsall my AIO 966 on the W10 SP1 OS. It just will not install. I have another PC on my homegroup that is still running W7. I shared printers when joining the homegroup after installing the 966 on that PC. The printer installed and prints, the Dell AIO Center works. But when i right click on the printer in Control Panel, it does not give me the option to share it and neither does the properties window. I installed this printer as a personal printer just like every other printer on my Homegroup but for some reason, it will not share. Any suggestions? I followed the "Typical" install from the original install CD using Vista SP2 compatibility mode and downloaded the drivers from the support forum, again with compatibility for Vista SP2. Still won't share. Music and documents share within the homegroup and one other printer on W10 on the homegroup shares just fine.

Walker_BJ,
Unfortunately, there are no Windows 10 drivers for this printer and the Windows 10 drivers is what is needed in order to print.

I understand that. That isn't my question. I've installed this printer on a Windows 7 machine using compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP2. It prints fine from that computer, which is on my home group, but it doesn't give me the option of sharing it even though the homegroup membership is checked to share printers.

Walker_BJ,
When Windows 7 first was released, there were printer sharing issues with older operating systems. Try reading this article and see if if helps with your printer sharing.

You mentioned Vista, maybe these articles may help.

Walker_BJ,
I also forgot to mention, please check to make sure all systems are on the same WORKGROUP.
Also check your virus program(s) and firewall(s) to make sure the printer is allowed past the firewall.
