Dell Laser Printer 1700N - Load tray 1 problem

Hi, I have a 1700N printer that has worked swell for a long periode of time. Now it has start giving me a Load tray 1 Plain A4 message. I have only Tray 1, and the MPF.

 

Last time I had problems like this, it was the drawer that had been changed... the size in it. I have checked that and it seems ok, but still I get this message. Do anyone know why? And how to fix it? :-)

 

If I add a A4 sheet to the MPF, it works swell, but I want my draw to be the one to be used, and that is loaded with A4 sheets.

The input rollers (two black belt-like wheels under the unit) on the 1700n printers are notorious for wearing out.  For the time being, you can turn both of them inside out and they should work for a bit longer.  You'll want to replace them though.  Standard warranty issue, if the unit is still covered.  Hope this helps.
