It would be very helpful if you included the model number of the printer.

Also, pictures of where the paper is jamming would be great...... pictures speak a thousand words.
If you can, please scan or take some pictures of the problem area and post them with your reply. Use the "Insert Media" icon to locate the file on your computer and upload to include with your reply. (obtw.... max image width is 550 pixels)

This is really an update to the original question from the same person.

We got out all the scraps of paper and can see no jam anywhere but it still says paper jam!!

thanks again

Now a new problem!  We got all the scraps of paper out and now it won't feed new paper.  It just doesn't seem to be able to pick up a sheet and feed it through.  Frustrating!

thanks for your help

You still haven't provided the model number of the printer.... can't give you any detailed repair advice until you do so.

So sorry.  It's a dell mono laser 1125 mfp - everything seems to be fine and it's trying to print but it just can't manage to pick up a piece of papaer.

The message says "paper jam warning" but there doesn't seem to be one any more.

You can see the stack of paper move around as the printer tries to pick up a sheet but it just cant.

I really appreciate anyone's help.

thanks

Uhh.... this is a very inexpensive printer.... when Dell gets these back, they get scrapped. There are no repair parts available for this printer.

Most likely, you have a dirty feed roller or  there are "remains" from the paper jam you reported earlier. If you remove the toner cartridge, you can see the feed mechanism. If you also remove the paper tray (not just the paper, but the whole tray) you'll probably be able to see more of it. Try to remove the feed roller and clean with a mild dish-soap solution, then with clear, clean water. Dry thoroughly. Your finger (clean and dry) should encounter "squeaky resistance" if you and try and slide your finger across it.
