Dell V305 Wireless - .NET Framework error

I have been trying for days to fix this printer where I can scan, but have had no luck. I have downloaded all the new drivers for windows 8.1 and still it does not work. I have looked at a previous post and the article it referenced does not even show up on the  site anymore. Please help.

I have a Dell V305 Wireless All in One Printer, I have a Windows 8.1 computer.

I keep getting the error about .net framework, and when I downloaded the new drivers from Dell it does not give me the option for the software for scanning.

lmyers2015,

You are having 2 issues here. You need .net framework for windows and you need OCR scanning software. Click the links below to download them.

I have the OCR that came with the printer, but it will not work with Windows 8.1. I also have the .NET framework that is required and it is installed on my computer. It will still not recognize the issue. It gives me the same error every time. I have already contacted Microsoft and they ran all kinds of updates but the error still occurs.

lmyers2015,

I forgot to mention, the .net framework problem comes from upgrading the operating system and the printer is installed. Uninstalling the printer, restarting the computer, then reinstalling the printer, the .net framework problem is corrected.

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Error After Upgrading to Windows 7 This should be similar to newer operating systems and different versions of .net framework

lmyers2015,

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print job(s) from the queue, then restart your computer.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

If the printer was connected wirelessly to your network for another comnputer, install the drivers, choose network, additional computer. If the printer needs setup for your network, on the printer, click on the wrench, look for reset the wireless adapter back to factory settings. Then install the drivers, choose install a printer, then select network.

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Links to the drivers can be found at...

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

If you don't have the printer disk, the OCR Programs that Jesse mentioned most likely will not work with the printer. If you CLICK HERE, on the next page, send a private message, we can discuss OCR Program options there.
