Dell V313w error message "problem with the printhead"

I recently changed my black printer cartridge (dell V313w) followed within weeks by replacing my color cartridge.

Printer worked well before change out of cartridges, and worked after replacing the black cartridge....with "black" only print jobs due to the color cartridge being almost empty.

After replacing the color cartridge the error message appeared.... (problem with the printhead".

I've followed the screen prompts to resolve the problem without success.

Any suggestions?

Well rats. Followed the instructions that you kindly provided...same problem.

In fact, in one of the links the directions say to "press setup" and then select maintenance.  When I press "setup" nothing happens.  The error message continues to scroll and no options are presented to me.

I didn't write the article so I'm not quite sure about the procedure.

 

Try removing the power cord from the wall. Remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. This removes any error messages the printer is getting.

 

You may want to contact Dell and tell them you put in new cartridges and you're now getting the printhead error.

Yep. That is what I thought my next step would be.  I've tried the "unplug" thing with no result so its time to talk with a human at Dell, assuming I can find one.

I doubt that there is something amiss with the printer....I think that I am making a simple error somewhere....but I can't figure it out and I've gone through the suggested procedures several times with the same result.  Time to do something different.

The other option is to purchase a Replacement Printhead
