Dell V510 printing issue

I continue to have printing issue and am looking for help... I have a dell laptop and a Dell V510 printer that can print via USB connection as well as WiFi.  i can print one document and have no issues.  When i try to print a second thing, does not matter what it is, it will not print.. when i open my printer dialogue window it shows it is printing but does not print.. it will keep saying it is printing until i reboot my PC.  I can try to cancel the print or delete it and it will say deleting but never delete... i deleted one doc on Friday, it said it was deleting print job and i looked the next day and it still said it was deleting... i can not figure out why i can only print one thing and then my printer will not ever print anything again until i reboot... i ran troubleshooter and it does not find any issues...  someone said something about a spool issue but i am not sure... please assist.

JamesT23,

In the last batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.

Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.

Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.

I have the exact same problem.  Have you tried to do the uninstall that the person suggested who replied to your post?  Or have you fixed it another way?  I uninstalled the printer and then reinstalled it and that didn't work either.

I do currently have IE11. If I uninstall it will I still have internet access?  (As you can maybe tell, I'm somewhat of a computer "know-nothing").

SheelahMeyer,

When you uninstall IE11, the system should revert back to a previous version. Mine reverted back to IE10.

Go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.

Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.

Hi, James:

As you probably have noted, you are not alone having problems printing a second command. There are several of us on this Forum operating V313, V510, V513 and V715, Dell printers, with, essentially, the same problem.  I am a computer amateur, thus, I am not capable of offering any specific technical suggestions. However, I am wondering if our recent problems...mine appeared just before Christmas...are related to one of the periodic automatic upgrades which we receive from Windows? Just asking. I'm stumped. I posted my dilemma, yesterday, and noted, this morning, the other similar messages seeking assistance. Thus, my message to you. Hopefully, someone will have the answer to our frustration, which is a royal pain in the behind!!

Have you tried the above (in red). I had this problem and RockStarRick solved it for me with the above solution.

Thank you, Sheela!  I went through the steps, provided by RockStarRick, to the best of my ability, and, whatever I did has solved the problem. I, now, am able to make consecutive prints, without having to Restart the computer!  Again, thank you for your interest and to RockStarRick for taking the time to walk through the steps to assist me in eliminating the printing hang-up!! All the Best!

So I have had my Dell V510 working perfectly until around Christmas.  I DO NOT use Internet Explorer at all and have always been using Mozilla Firefox.  Has there been any issues with Firefox and its updates?  My printer issues are exactly the same and if they cannot be resolved I will never buy Dell again.  And before you say "check the firmware"......already done. As well as deleting the entire Dell program and re-installing it.  So i'm a little stumped at this point.

Any Suggestions?

Bill

I will attempt to try this one out.  Not sure what IE has to do with my printer.  I have never used it but hey anythings worth a shot.
