Dell V515W Printer

Everytime I try to print anything or copy anything on my printer there is a color watermark on my printed item or copy?

How do I stop this from happening?

Thanks

Hi FKTD1,

There could be various reasons causing this issue. You may try the below mentioned steps which might help:

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed.
  • Check the ink levels and replace any low or empty ink cartridges.
  • Select a higher print quality in the print settings for the printer software.
  • Align the Printhead by going into the printer's menu and selecting Setup, Maintenance, and then Align Printer.
  • Clean or deep clean the Printhead nozzles by going into the printer's menu and selecting Setup, Maintenance, and then Clean Printhead.
  • Update the printer firmware from the link http://dell.to/ZOqmRV. Make sure that you have selected the correct operating system before downloading the firmware.

You may refer to the user guide for Dell V515W printer from the link http://dell.to/17i3Abu for assistance in performing the above mentioned steps. Also, here is the link http://dell.to/11OrTZA for assistance on Printer Setup, Use and Maintenance.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any further questions.

FKTD1,

Start. control panel, devices and printers, right click on your printer, printer preferences, watermark.

Have your settings match mine.

Hi FKTD1,

I see that you have posted in this link: http://dell.to/11FhuAX

Please be rest assured, I will be following the case and helping you further.

I would like to know, if you have tried replacing the ink cartridges for this issue?

If not, please try a different set of ink cartridges, perform a deep clean of printhead from printers menu and try to print. This will helps us to isolate the problem between the ink cartridges and the printhead.

If the issue persists even after replacing the ink cartridges the problem is with the print and it needs to be replaced.

Please try the above steps and reply with results.

I changed the page to two sided to match earlier settings suggested above, I changed back to single page and now the header is not printing at all in color or otherwise on spreadsheets?

Example

Item   Price etc on top line highlighted in blue on a spreadsheet, it does not print at all

Hi FKTD1,

There are a set of Services which has to be started. These are required by the printer to scan the documents from the computer.

Perform the steps below and ensure that the services required are started:

1) Press the “Windows + R” to launch the run window.

2) Type “Services.msc” in the run window and hit the Enter key.

Right click each service mentioned below, click properties. Set the startup type as “Automatic” from the drop down menu and click “Start”. Please click “Apply” to save the changes.

The services to be enabled are:

  • Human Interface Devices (HID).
  • Printer Spooler.
  • RPC (Remote Procedure Call).
  • RPC Locator (Remote Procedure Call Locator).
  • Windows image acquisition (WIA).
  • Windows Installer.

After starting the services, restart the computer and try to print from the computer. If the problem still persists uninstall the printer drivers from the computer.

Follow the steps to uninstall the printer drivers from the computer:

1) Click “Start”.

2) Select “Control Panel”.

3) Select “Add or Remove Program” (for windows xp operating system).

4) Select the printer model Dell V515W and uninstall it

5) Restart the computer for saving the changes.

These steps will uninstall the printer drivers.

Insert the printer driver’s cd for a Dell V515W printer and install the drivers in the computer.

If the cd is unavailable use the following steps to download the printer drivers.

Download the printer driver from the link: http://dell.to/RCoAmV

NOTE: Please do not connect the printer using the USB cable to the computer prior to installing the drivers. Please choose the right operating system from the list under operating system.

Please copy the above mentioned link, paste it in the address bar of the new internet explorer window.

1) Select the operating system of your computer from the list.

2) Save the file to the desktop.

3) Double-Click the downloaded file.

4) Click “Yes”, when the utility prompts to extract the files.

5) Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

6) Connect the printer using the USB cable when prompted.

Try printing  the document from the computer and reply with results.
