jwrightsonjr74,

Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the powerbrick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages the printer is getting.

I experienced the exact same situation.  A solution is to raise printer top and then unplug printer.  Leave top up and plug printer back in.

I tried your suggestion and everyone else but nothing seems to work.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on my lap top but it still wont work.   Any other suggestions?  Thank you

I have the same issue.  I plugged in last spring after it was stored in a closet for a couple of years.  I took it out and it booted up fine and even connected to my wireless network but I needed printer cartridges.  So it sat unplugged until last week now I get the problem where the bar only goes about a fifth of the way and stops.  I've power cycled as suggested and even raised the lid while doing so.  Nothing.  Any other suggestions?
