Did this computer come with Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit?) or did you install it? If you installed Windows 7, did you install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, the try using the Vista (or XP) drivers and install them in the Compatibility mode
You have the Dell 926 printer connected to the Dell 3300 wireless print adapter, correct? Not a Dell 3000 or is this another computer?
If using the Dell 3300 wireless print adapter, make and model of your wireless router and they type of security you're using and channel, please.
Thanks for replying. Windows 7 was put on my computer and yes the drivers were put on first. All drivers work. I have a Dell wireless 3300 - On the back it says Machine type 4032 dwo. There is really no model number. I do not use security as I live in a remote area and do not need it. I use channel 11. I have a Neatgear wireless router which is working fine. My 3300 router has all lights working. When I install the wireless program it works just fine. However whern I shut down the computer and restart it, the computer says it can not communicate with the printer. All drivers have been checked and updated as has the firmware of the routers.
What settings are you using in your wireless router?
You are tryimng to setup the 3300 on the same network. I have found that it sometimes enters an extra letter when doing this. Try setting up the 3300 to the nearest network. Secured is fine. Fake the password and you'll get a message it cannot connect. Now select your network and us the correct information and it should connect.
I reinstalled my 3300 and printer. Everything worked great. I coppied several items. I then restarted my computer and I get the same message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. I am ready to give up!
None of your ideas have worked. I simply loose communication from the computer to the printer each time I restart my computer. If I reinstall everything and never tur off my computer all works well. Guess I will just connect my computer to the printer by usb cabel and go talk to someone at a computer store. Dell will not help unless you pay them. That is the only thing I dislike about Dell. Their customer service has a lot to be disired.
Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager)
Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.
Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.

mlkody,
Is the power to the 3300 and the printer on 24/7? If one of these is turned off, you will get this message.

mlkody,
My Dell 964 Printer had a sleep mode. It would go to sleep after 10 minutes. It was still on 24/7. It would wake up when someone sent a print job.
Yes, leave the printer on and restart your computer and see if the message is there.

mlkody,
Instructions are...
Setting up the Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300
Try to connect to your neighbors network or change your SSID. Changing the SSID may be easier.
