Does Dell Tech Support even browse these forums?

I have been reading several posts in this forum and have yet to see and Dell Tech Support Reps reply to any post.

It seems as though Dell Tech Support has really delined in quality in the past few months.

Whenever I contact them by phone, I can barely understand their broken English and it seems as though they go to extreme measures to be most unhelpful.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this utter lack of care or support of customers spending money at their company?

Where is Michael Dell and who is in charge anyway?

In all fairness I have seen quite allot of help come from the Moderators in the Dimension forums.  As for actual Techs.....I have never seen a Dell Tech answer any posts.  That would be pointless.  Then they are not working on our equipment.

You would think that the Moderators would send certain posts/problems toward the Dell Techs in search of answers.  However, I do not know if this is the case.  I do know that in the Dimension forums a Moderator named ChrisM has put up many stickys with very helpful information.  He has also jumped in on many posts to point the way or to simply answer a question right out.  There are other Moderators that have done similar things, but, ChrisM has done the most in my opinion.  He also has not been an Over-Mod/Lord while doing it.  In other words he doesn't let it go to his head...Drunk with Power deleting our posts or Nick-Picky stuff.

As for this forum on Printers I have never seen a Moderator.  This is not as active of a forum as the others.  The posts can be weeks old with no answers.  To me it would seem there would be many more problems with a printer then this forum lets on.   For example:  I have read reviews on other sites about the Calibrating of certain Dell Laser printers.  Seems they go into Calibrating mode allot!  There should be a STICKY at the top of this forum about this.  Why & How & What can We do sticky!

Keep in mind this is a "community forum", which Dell defines explicity in the Terms of Service tab at the top of the page:

"Although the Community Forum is moderated by Dell employees; it is intended only as a way for visitors to get answers from other visitors, and not to get answers from Dell."

Please don't get me wrong. I wasn't being harsh, but instead trying to point out how the forum works. While there are plenty of unanswered postings, you will often find that's because the issue has been discussed several times before and answers found by doing simple text searches. Many helpful posters sort of wear out with repetitive answers, but you will find that we do try to be helpful where we can. The printer forums are not very active in general, and many just shy away from questions regarding networking problems with them because it's so hard to diagnose without being right there with the network.

OK - Sorry for my not reading the "Terms of Service" - My bad.

It's just that I see so many posts with a question and nobody answers the questions posed by the customer.  I thought that it would be prudent for a moderator to attempt to help these poor folks.

For those of you who offer advice and help to those requesing it... thanks.

Forgive my ignorance of the forums. :smileysurprised:

All true Geotex. Still all in all Dell moderators could actually Moderate Here!  They do in the Dimension forums.  I understand that printers are not as fun to talk about as lets say Video Cards but still many users need help with these for their occupations.  This is the main reason we purchase Laser printers.  Having a moderator actually chip in here would be appreciated.
