You haven't used Zip too much..... right?

C:\ is the default when the file is packaged.

When you run the ZIP executable, a line will be displayed where the files will be "unzipped" to..... simply type in the correct path in this line where you want the files to go, then continue the operation. If the folder does not exist, you will be asked if it should be created. Click yes/ok and the operation will continue.

One word:  Tradition.  Many auto-expanding files default to C, but you can usually change this by altering the information in the box that pops up confirming where the file will be saved.  If you can't do that, I would still think you could copy the expanded files to the G drive and run setup from that drive.

Oops, maybe I should of been clearer.

I cannot change the path. An error box opens in front of the Zip Path dialog box. The error box, when closed, also closes the Zip path dialog box.

The error box contains the message:

Title: "Win-Zip Self Extractor"

Message: "Drive C is not a valid drive, unzip operation cancelled."

Moving the error box, does not allow me access to the Win-Zip Self Extractor path dialog.

Properties of the exe/zip file does not option out "Open With..." or "Extract to..."

It is an EXE file and changing the file type did not allow me to use as a normal zip file.

Again, the Dialog Window that would allow me to change the directory, is not allow me to acknowledge it. It is being trumped by an error box.

My main drive is G. I can change it, but I don't want to open that can of worms. I have not had a problem with software on Drive G (except LightScribe, meh HP software).

If you do not presently have a C drive you might be able to assign the letter to a USB memory key using disk management.  That should work if the only criteria is the presence of a drive having that letter designation.  The files will either be unzipped to the memory key, or you can at least get access to the dialog box to specify the drive and path.
