E525w error

Printer says ready to print. Evertime I try to print I get an error. Earlier it had said it was out of paper, witha fulltray in the printer. I took an air can and sprayed up inside the paper area and the back door of the printer. Still no luck. I mdon't knowhow to tear it apart. Any recommendations?

Hold the 2 and 6 buttons while powering the printer on.  Once the self-test begins, you can release those buttons.  Does the printer pass the self-test and output a demo page?

@ejn63 what do mean the 2 and 6 buttons? There are no number buttons on this printer. Just the up, down, right, left, menu and cancel buttons. Please explain!

If you have the model number correct, it's on the operator panel:

From the manual

Hardware Self-Test (Power-On Self-Test)
  1. Power Off & Disconnect: Turn off the printer and unplug all data cables (USB, Ethernet, etc.).
  2. Power On: Reconnect the power cable and turn the printer on.
  3. Print Settings Report: If it completes without errors (POST), use the control panel to print a settings/configuration report. This checks basic printer functions.

Unfortunately, E525w has this common issue.
