This was a huge pain in the rear for me.  I had a HP A-I-O printer with a flatbed scanner and when you fax multiple pages it has to scan one page at a time.  Once it scans the first page it asks you if you want to scan another page.  Then you habe to enter Y or N.  It is such a pain to have to load 5-10 sheets of paper on to the flatbed just to send a fax.  I just bought the A962 with the auto feeder and it is a dream.  I would recommend stearing clear of a flatbed scanner if you intend to send faxes with more than 3 pages.
