how do I change the default font size when printing from email on my new inspiron 530?

I have just upgraded from a dell dimension 4600 desktop to a new inspiron 530, and am still using my old but wonderful and highly reliable HP laserjet 3330 printer. When I now print from a word document, the font size is just what it is on screen, 12 point. But when I print from the body of an email, it is suddenly reduced to tiny mice type (don't know what size it is, but it's VERY little). Also when I go to print, the Fax icon is highlighted rather than the printer icon and it wants to fax rather than print - can I set this somehow to choose printer as a default all the time unless I manually change it to fax, which I hardly ever do from my computer? Does this make sense to anyone?

Thank you - you're a genuis! And I opted for windows xp for my operating system instead of
Vista because of all the holiday stories, which makes it even more mysterious why the same system on my old computer didn't reduce the print but this one does!

First, to set the printer as the default "printer', go to Control Panel/Printer and then RIGHT Click on the Icon for your HP Printer and then LEFT click on "Set as Default".

The small printing on e-mails is another issue.  I don't if there has been something to resolve that or not.  Repost this specific question on the Software/Vista section, as the e-mail program is part of Vista.
