How do I connect the Printer to the computer?

Greetings,

Can someone please tell me how I can connect the printer (Photo 924) to the computer (Dimension 3100). It was awarded to my son at school last year and we have never connected the printer.

Do we need to download something?

Thank you,

The 924 should have come with the Installation CD.  You will also need a USB 2.0 certified cable to connect the unit to the PC.

The installation procedure is to first run the install program and ONLY when the program instructs you physically connect the unit to the PC.

If you've lost the CD, the drivers can be downloaded from HERE

As the unit has sat for quite a while the ink cartridge's nozzles may have become clogged.  If it doesn't print properly when you install it (e.g. missing colors or dots), soak the nozzle end of the cartridge in a shallow container of warm (not hot) water for about 10 to 15 minutes then blot dry and reinstall the cartridges.

Fireberd,

Thank you very much for the explanation. Please pardon my delay in expressing my gratitude. I have been taking care my ill father. It is only today that I have tried to connect the printer and I am unable. I get an error message.

I am getting a cartridge erro 1203. The owner's manual is not helping. What do you advice. What should I do?

Thank you very much.

May God bless you,

Hello again,

I just want to say that I found the solution to error message 1203 from a post in this forum. Basically, to take one cartridge out and start again to check if it is one or both of the cartridges that need to be replaced. I guess I need a new color cartridge.

But, now, I get another message: 'Clear Paper Jam' but there is no paper. I am following some nice instructions from a post here about how to fix that problem. I need to disassemble the printer to adjust a part I am unable to identify.

I'll go back to that post and follow through on it.

Once again thank you for your response.
