How do I create jpeg files when scanning on C1765nfw Printer

I have just purchased C1765nfw printer. When I scan images wirelessly to my computer using WSD and paperport then save the file it saves as a pdf file. When I then go to the folder using windows explorer it does not display the image saved as with jpeg files. All the saved files look identical with the only way of seeing the image is by opening the file. Is there a way that I can scan the images and save as a jpeg file or some other file that will display the images in the saved folder.
