How to remove paper guiding sensor next to the feed rollers

Hello Everyone,

Anyone knows how to remove and install new paper guiding sensor for Dell 5110/5100cn printer?  I have a broken printer that need to have that guiding replaced.

The guiding is the one in the red circle.

Thank you,

Duy

What is the problem the printer is having that this piece needs to be replaced for? Perhaps we can find a different way to resolve the issue. I am not sure if that is a swappable or if it is part of the base assembly of the printer.

Hi Printster,

Thank you  for reply.

Without this piece of guiding plastic, paper will be jamed 95% of the time (most of the time, it is jamed before reaching to the image drum.)

I have not try to put different piece plastic in its place to see if it could be solved the problem since I think this paper guiding may be linked to some other things inside the printer that I don't see unles taking everything apart.

If it is not making it to the drum then you are likely looking to replace the registration assembly and registration chute. You might try and find a service manual through google to look at the replacement process. Dell will likely not be able to provide you the steps unless you are certified in their system.

Thank you,  Printster.  I will try to look into it tomorrow.  No luck for Dell service manual, I believe that Dell has service contracts with other companies to provide warranty support for Dell's products. That is why no way we can find the service manual.
