Installing firmware for Dell Mono Laser 1815dn
I have since long had problems to connect to this printer to use it as a scanner.
Printing is no broblem,
When scanning you use the printer console to contact the computer that you whant to scan for.
Very often that contact is not establised though the computer is visible on the printer console.
Any comments?
Dell Mono Laser 1815dn_V1.03.04.03_smdall.hd is a firm ware update console that I have downloaded. It is said to be a PDF file, but it is not for me.
It is found on http://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/. How do I open this file?
regards

Kohler49,
This is a link to the driver section of Dell, and the firmware update.
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PRN_ALL_1815DN&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Please select the proper OS, and read the install instructions.

It's not a PDF (that's a mistake in the file library). It's a binary file used to update the firmware when Network connected. Use the file that ends with "autoupdate" when connected via USB
